What they're saying about "Earth & Women — the pilot…

"Earth & Women" is the most professionally produced piece that has ever been submitted to the Filmmakers Showcase.
Ron Keedy, Owner of Key Cinemas, Indianapolis

Women are smart, creative, capable and not scared to fail or succeed. These are earth citizens who truly care and are doing something about the issues.
Barbara Parker, Manager of Customer Services

Visually it reminded me of how beautiful empowered women are...and I'm always inspired by people who actually "do" instead of rant and talk.
Suzanne O'Donnell, Actress

In a word, superb! (We're) very impressed and so very moved by it!
Mindy and Jim Phypers, Owner-builders

I found three aspects interesting: the relationship people have to their dwellings; a house is part of the Earth; and putting love into your house is a fascinating and needful commitment.
Marjorie Bekaert Thomas, President, Ivanhoe Broadcast News

There seems to be an almost mystical connection between the nest-building project and the need to connect with each other as whole persons. I found the photography to be excellent, the narrations clear, and the sound quality extremely good.
Marshall Collins, Financial Planner

Synopsis

This inspiring video shows how environmentally-sensitive women are designing and building their own homes, using straw bale walls coated with mud plasters. Their homes are mortgage-free, designed with nature in mind, and the owners conserve energy by living 'off the grid.' The video features interviews with numerous women who have built homes from organic materials and who describe the empowering nature of the process, which connects family members, friends and neighbors. The use of straw, a waste product which is normally burned, reconnects women with the earth and expresses women's traditional roles as caregivers.
